In a jaw-dropping act of self-inflicted national harm, Donald Trump has yanked the United States out of 66 international organizations and treaties, including the world's most important climate and science bodies - leaving America isolated, embarrassed, and flying blind as the planet burns.

With the stroke of a presidential memo, Trump withdrew the U.S. from the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the backbone of global efforts to confront climate catastrophe. Nearly 200 countries remain at the table. The United States? Storming out in a tantrum.

Experts didn't mince words.

"This is a colossal own goal," said U.N. climate chief Simon Stiell, warning that Trump's retreat will cost Americans jobs, affordable energy, food security, and insurance - all while wildfires, floods, mega-storms, and droughts accelerate. In other words, Trump isn't "owning the libs." He's kneecapping the U.S. economy.

Former EPA head Gina McCarthy called the move "shortsighted, embarrassing, and foolish," noting that Trump has now made America the only country on Earth outside the UN climate treaty. Pulling out of the IPCC doesn't erase climate science - it just ensures Americans get less of it, while fossil fuel interests flood the void with disinformation.

As the rest of the world races to dominate clean energy, Trump is dragging the U.S. backward into a dirty, dangerous past.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom summed it up perfectly: this move is "brainless" - a surrender of American leadership that hands the future to China on a silver platter.

While Trump retreats, states, cities, scientists, and allies are stepping up. But make no mistake: this wasn't "America First." It was America alone.
